Circle K International at Virginia Tech

Circle K International at Virginia Tech

8 Notes

Why should you join VTCKI?

If you’re considering joining Circle K (or are curious about joining), think of it this way. Your high school probably had a Key Club. They did volunteer projects around their communities. Circle K International is essentially the college arm of the Kiwanis International family of clubs, which includes Key Club (the high school arm of Kiwanis).

So now that you know that CKI and Key Club are related, you probably have a better idea of what we do. We participate in service projects around the Virginia Tech community and throughout Southwest Virginia. One of our big accomplishments this past year was the construction of a new playground in Pulaski County, VA. The members who went to help put up the playground had a great time hanging out with each other and doing a good deed for the community.

And that’s really what our club is all about. Making friends and helping the community in the process. It’s not enough to just go to meetings and listen to the events coming up. Helping out at a project will help you get to know your fellow members better, and those friendships that you create could last through your college years and beyond.

So if you’re thinking of joining VTCKI, our first meeting time will be posted soon enough. Hope to see you at our meetings and at our service projects!
